Julie Ansell

Dr Ansell joined Clinica Colorado as a provider and medical director in December 2021.

Dr Ansell has been a family physician for twenty years. She is passionate about excellent health care for all patients and will be seeing patients of all ages (ie newborns, children, adolescents, adults, elderly).

Dr Ansell received a Bachelor’s degree from Rice University in Anthropology and Biology (BA), then a Masters in Anthropology from CU Boulder.  She received her medical degree from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2001 and completed residency in Texas at McClennan County Family Residency Program.  She quickly returned to Colorado and has been practicing on the Front Range ever since.

Dr Ansell enjoys all aspects of family medicine- she has delivered hundreds of babies and cared for patients in the hospital, in the clinic, in the urgent care, and at mobile care sites. She has volunteered at homeless shelters and pop-up clinics. She started learning Spanish to better communicate with her diverse population in Texas during her residency and is continually working on her vocabulary.   She has a particular interest in health care equity, clinical guideline applications, and is excited to share her years of diverse experience with the patients and staff at Clinica Colorado.

When Dr Ansell is not working, she enjoys hiking, yoga, pottery, cooking, and traveling. She is a proud Mom of a teenaged son and a daughter that has recently moved away to start college.
